PreHistoric Animals - Magic Love Destruction

Prehistoric Music Sweden

Swedish prog rockers PreHistoric Animals are releasing their fifth studio album Magic Love Destruction in October 2026. And a fantastic album it is! Written and produced by Stefan Altzar, Samuel Granath, and Daniel Magdic, the album continues the band's tradition of combining imaginative storytelling with adventurous musicianship, while exploring new sonic territories. The album has been mixed and mastered by Stefan Altzar and it sounds amazing. Magic Love Destruction features the core lineup of Samuel Granath (drums), Daniel Magdic (guitars, vocals), Noah Magnusson (bass, vocals), Mats Nilsson (keyboards, vocals), and Stefan Altzar (guitars, lead vocals), with additional keyboard contributions from Granath, Magdic, and Altzar.

What to expect from this album? Beautiful vocals (listen to ‘The Wedding Singer”), great musicianship by all bandmembers, and wonderful melodies. It’s a bit going back in time to the great prog bands from the past, but Prehistoric Animals have their own style. It can be heavy, like the opening of ‘Stupidity for Beginners’, complex and simply beautiful. There are seven songs on the album, but the last one ‘Finding Love in Dark Places’ has three parts, clocking 16 minutes together. The first part 'In Orbit' gave me goosebumps. Absolutely beautiful.

Highly recommended!
