Following the wonderful Verborgen Prog Parels 1970–1980 Deel 1, which Henk Tuijn co-authored with Lenne Huisman from Serious Music, Henk has continued the journey with a second volume. Now available, Henk Tuijn once again brings an impressive wealth of lesser-known progressive rock albums into the spotlight.

Henk explains how he compiled the book before diving into detailed reviews of no fewer than 55 albums. He does so thoroughly: covering the tracks, the band members, the album itself, his personal impressions, and quotes from the music press. Right in the middle of the book, all the album covers are featured in full color. I thought I knew quite a few bands, but a whole new world opened up for me—what an absolute treasure trove this is. I looked up and listened to several of the featured bands, and I must say Henk has truly unearthed some hidden gems.

Am I missing anything? I have no idea, and frankly, it doesn't matter at all—because these are Henk Tuijn's personal choices.

This is painstaking work of the highest caliber. An absolute must-buy for any fan of progressive rock from its early days! A reminder: it’s totally in the Dutch language.
