Romanian Dirty Shirt is an unique band. They describe their music as Dirty Fucking FolkCore Metal. And that is exactly what it is! They are widely regarded as one of the most original and successful rock bands in Eastern Europe, being known mainly for their musical influences stemming from East European traditional music. The use of traditional acoustic instruments in the studio and on stage makes this mixture even more authentic. Dirty Thirty Live is a double album celebrating 30 years of Dirty Shirt with the ultimate live best-of: 30 songs selected from 11 of the most important performances in the band’s history, presented chronologically: FolkCore Detour – 2017, Wacken Open Air – 2019, 25 Years: Pandemic Special – 2020, Pol’and’Rock Festival – 2021, Maximum Rock Festival – 2021, Hellfest – 2022, Pol’and’Rock Festival – 2025.

Dirty Shirt is a BIG band in many ways. The core of the band are :

Dan "Rini" Crăciun – vocals, Robert Rusz – vocals, bandleader Mihai Tivadar – keyboards, guitars, Cristian Bălănean – guitars, Dan Petean – guitars, Pál Novelli – bass, Cosmin Nechita – violin and Sergio Ponti – drums. Sergio is the latest edition to the band as he replaced Vlad Țoca who played drums before him and Vlad is also an great drummer.

If the stages are big enough Dirty Shirt is joined by Miruna Puiu, Alexandra Joicaliuc and Tea Vișan who provide fantastic backing vocals. And also Răzvan Nechita and Paula Gherasim on violin are often whith them on stage as is Andrei Oltean on woodwind instruments. All musicians are absoluty on the top of their game!

Ok, now to the album. If you want to now what Dirty Fucking FolkCore Metal stands for you absolutely have to listen to this album. A great sounding live album that shows the energy this band brings on stage. It’s folk, it’s metal, it rocks like hell and I love it. The low voice of Robert Rusz and the high pitched vocals of Dan "Rini" Crăciun are a match made in heaven. Expect walls of sound, East European folk melodies and rhythms in beautiful (often) heavy arrangements. Dirty Thirty is not only thirty years of Dirty Shirt, but it’s also thirty songs long. So take your time. If you have to take a long drive, put this on and you’re on your destination before you know. I had the opportunity to see Dirty Shirt live. This album is absolutely a true document of the uniqueness of this band when they’re onstage. Their energy blasts out of the speakers. I absolutely love it. More than that I’m a big big fan!
