In 2023, Ron Lammers launched his project, The Foundation. The first album, the excellent Mask, immediately received very good reviews.

Now, the second album, "Relations," has arrived. A second album is always challenging, but The Foundation has even surpassed the quality of "Mask"! And that's a fantastic achievement. The artwork by Douwe Fledderus of Blissy Design is also a highlight. He's created a beautiful media book.

"Relations" will certainly appeal to fans of bands like Camel and Genesis. Former Knight Area member Mark Smit returns on vocals (and lyrics). He's especially at his best in "Life"! Rinie Huigen demonstrates his exceptional guitar skills, and bassist Gijs Koopman also has a strong presence. Along with top guitarist Jens van der Valk and the excellent drummer Jan Grijpstra, keyboardist Lammers has a top-notch lineup. While "Mask" is a concept album, "Relations" isn't, but the songs do share a common theme. Lammers wrote two songs himself, three are by Koopman, two by Huigen, and one by Smit. This creates more variety, and it works brilliantly. Relations is an album you simply have to sit down to. Enjoy the beautiful melodies, read the beautiful lyrics, and let yourself be carried away by the instrumental masterpieces.
